U9/U11 Fall Soccer Program - 2024

Sherwood Parkdale and Avema Soccer would like to invite you to participate in our U9/U11 fall training sessions. OPEN to all soccer players on PEI. These sessions are geared towards players who have played either U9 or U11 Soccer this summer. During these sessions, we will be focusing on the following:

• TECHNIQUE: to properly be able to manipulate the ball;
• BALL MASTERY: to be able to use a variety of moves, turns, passes and touches to control the ball
• DECISION MAKING: to make positive decisions under pressure
• POSITIONING: to position themselves properly within a team shape.

These four main focuses should allow for an improved overall understanding of the game in a team setting. To accomplish this, we will be using:

• Situational drills to simulate problem-solving and decision-making.
• Individual skill drills to focus on technique and ball mastery.
• Small-sided games to compete and apply what they have learned.

Most players this age do not have a chance to play school soccer and are in what the CSA calls "The Golden Age of Learning." This program will provide a competitive training environment where players from around P.E.I. can continue to develop and enjoy the game throughout the fall. This will also lead directly into our Futsal program that starts in early November. 

Head Instructor: Mark Caudle

Mark is highly involved in youth soccer development on PEI at the club and provincial level and holds a provincial B coaching license. He has been running soccer camps and programs on PEI for a number of years with a lot of success.

Cost: $160 for 12 sessions

*Third child discount - $80 for the third child

Location: Parkman Soccer Complex (East Royalty)

Dates: Sept 7th - Oct 20th  (no sessions Oct 12th and Oct 13th)

Ages: 7-11 (players will be split by age group)

In addition to this we will be looking to organize games vs off-island teams for our players who are excelling. Those details are still being worked on. This would be at an extra cost to those who are selected.
